About

What SP Associates does.

The paperwork that keeps a business legal, handled by the person you actually speak to.

SP Associates handles the paperwork that keeps a business legal — company and firm registration, GST, income tax returns, MSME registration, trade licences and the ongoing filings that follow each of them.

Most of this work is not complicated so much as unforgiving. A return filed a week late, a registration taken under the wrong category, a mismatch between a PAN and a bank record — each of those is cheap to get right at the start and expensive to unpick months later. The job is to get it right the first time and to keep the deadlines from arriving unannounced.

Work is taken on directly, and the person you speak to is the person handling the file. You are told what documents are needed, what the government fee is, and what the realistic timeline looks like before anything begins.

Services

Everything SP Associates handles.

Registration, the returns that follow it, and the filings that arrive every year whether or not anyone remembers them.

Registration and incorporation

Getting the entity itself on the record, under the right structure.

  • Private Limited Company registrationName approval, DIN and DSC for the directors, incorporation through SPICe+, PAN, TAN and the first statutory registers.
  • LLP registrationPartner DINs and DSCs, name reservation, incorporation and the LLP agreement filed within the window that follows it.
  • Proprietorship and partnership setupThe registrations a sole proprietor or a partnership firm actually needs to open a current account and trade legally.
  • MSME / Udyam registrationRegistration on the Udyam portal under the correct activity and enterprise class, so the certificate holds up when a bank or a buyer checks it.
  • Trade licence and Shops & Establishment registrationThe municipal registrations a shop or office needs to operate at its address, including renewals.

GST

Registration, then the returns that never stop once you have it.

  • GST registrationWhether registration is required in your case, then the application, clarification replies and the certificate.
  • GST return filingGSTR-1 and GSTR-3B on schedule, reconciled against your books and against what your suppliers have actually filed.
  • Annual return and reconciliationGSTR-9 and, where it applies, GSTR-9C — reconciled before filing rather than after a notice arrives.
  • Amendments, cancellation and revocationChanging an address, a business name or the list of authorised signatories; surrendering a registration cleanly; reviving one cancelled by the department.

Income tax

Returns for the business and for the people who own it.

  • Income tax return filingSalaried, business and professional returns, under the ITR form and the tax regime that actually fits the year in question.
  • TDS returns and Form 16Quarterly TDS statements, correction statements where the first one was rejected, and certificates for the people deducted from.
  • Advance tax and noticesWorking out what is due and when, and drafting the reply when a notice or an intimation lands.

Ongoing compliance

The filings that arrive every year whether or not anyone remembers them.

  • ROC annual filingsAOC-4, MGT-7 and the director KYC that quietly disqualifies a director when it is skipped.
  • Bookkeeping and accountsBooks maintained through the year so that the return at the end of it is an afternoon rather than a fortnight.
  • Compliance calendarA written list of every due date that applies to your entity, so a deadline is something you plan for rather than discover.
How it works

Six steps, and you are told the cost before step three.

Nothing is filed before you have seen the checklist, the fee and the realistic timeline in writing.

Questions

Before you send anything.

The questions that come up most, answered the way they would be on the phone.

Is SP Associates part of Orderzone?

No. SP Associates is an independent business with its own registration, its own clients and its own responsibility for the work it does.

Orderzone is the platform hosting this page — the same way a business might have a page on a directory. Enquiries made here go to SP Associates directly, and Orderzone is not a party to any engagement that follows.

Do I actually need GST registration for my business?

Not always. Registration becomes mandatory once turnover crosses the threshold for your state and your type of supply, and the threshold for goods is higher than the one for services. Several categories — inter-state supply of goods, most e-commerce sellers, and businesses liable under reverse charge among them — must register from the first rupee regardless of turnover.

Voluntary registration is sometimes worth taking before you are obliged to, because it lets you claim input credit and because many B2B buyers will not deal with an unregistered supplier. It also commits you to filing returns every month or quarter from then on, whether or not you traded.

The honest answer depends on your numbers, so it is worth asking before registering rather than after.

What documents do I need to get started?

For most registrations: PAN and Aadhaar of the proprietor, partners or directors, a passport-size photograph, proof of the business address, and a recent bank statement or a cancelled cheque.

A rented premises needs the rent agreement and a no-objection letter from the owner; an owned one needs a utility bill or the property tax receipt.

You are sent the exact checklist for your case before anything begins, so you collect once rather than three times.

How long does a registration take?

Udyam registration is usually the same day. GST registration commonly takes about a week when the application is clean, and longer if the department raises a query or asks for physical verification of the premises.

Company and LLP incorporation typically runs to one or two weeks end to end, most of which is name approval and the digital signatures.

These are the usual timelines, not guarantees. Government portals go down, and departments raise queries for reasons nobody can predict. You are told when something slips and why.

What does it cost?

It depends on the service, the entity type and the government fee that applies, which is why there is no single price on this page. What you are given before you commit is the full figure: the professional fee and the statutory fee, separately, so you can see which part is ours and which part is the government’s.

Nothing is started before that figure is agreed.

I already have a registration but the filings are behind. Can that be sorted out?

Usually yes. Late returns can generally still be filed, though late fees and interest accrue and they grow with time, which is why the cheapest day to deal with it is always today.

The first step is to establish what has actually been filed and what has not, from the portals themselves rather than from memory. Bring your login credentials, or the details needed to recover them, and the position can be established before anything is quoted.
